Vernaccia di San Gimignano, Toscolo, Toscana 2007: 10
This delightful white features luminous, straw yellow hue, leading on to a delicately aromatic bouquet of white flowers, pears and honeysuckle and a full-flavored palate rich in citrus aromas, firm freshness and almond nuances.
Pinot Grigio, Conti Beretta, Grave Friuli 2009: 10
Soft green apple tones greet the nose with pineapple and melon. Smooth, light acidity in the finish.
Bianco di Calabria, Alfieri Bianco, Zagarella, Calabria 2009: 11
Made from Malvasia Bianca, Inzolia and Sauvignon Blanc, this soft, low acidity southern white has notes of flowers and peaches with undertones of honey and fresh herbs. The fruit is rich on the palate leading to a clean, smooth finish.
Greco di Tufo, DeLucia, Campania 2009: 12
Soft minerals with peaches and apricots on a very aromatic nose. The palate is pleasantly dry with combined fruit and medium acidity making it an excellent choice for light meats, grilled fish and light pasta dishes.
Sauvignon Blanc, Cefiro, Vina Casablanca, Chile 2009: 12
Bright, greenish yellow with broad aromas of Jasmine, citrus and tropical fruits. Impressive acidity and a long finish.
Verdicchio di Matelica, Fontezoppa, Le Marche 2009: 12
Deep, straw yellow with greenish reflections. Golden apples and walnuts on the nose with juniper and jasmine. Smooth and fresh on the palate with good body and pleasant acidity.
Veneto Bianco, Capitel Croce, Anselmi, Monforte D’Alpone 2008: 13
Brilliant gold with a light amber tint. Bouquet of fresh fruit, peach, apple cream and spring flowers. Dry, complex and persistent with rich, creamy fruit flavors consistent with the nose of the wine. Light ioak use adds agreeable spiciness and length to the finish.
Chardonnay, Le Bruniche, Tenuta di Nozzole, Toscana 2009: 13
A clean refined Chardonnay of medium body with scents of tropical fruits, white pepper and minerals, fresh acidity on the palate with a dry, clean finish.
Moscato Giallo, Sandmaier, Castelfeder, Alto Adige 2008: 13
Pale yellow with golden reflections and loads of apricot, lychee, grass and minerals on an extremely aromatic nose. Minerals and lychee persist on the palate with refreshing citrus notes adding complexity against soft fruits. A significant finish. Pair with spring vegetables and white meats.
Friulano, Villa Russiz, Friuli 2007: 14
Dried apricots and almond on the nose of this beautiful, 100% Friulano from one of the best producers of the varietal. A medium-medium heavy body with balanced apricot, blood orange and nutty tones with easy, smooth acidity and a significant finish.
Fiano di Avellino, Pietracalda, Feudi di San Gregorio, Campania 2009: 18
A “Tre Bicchieri” award winning white from Campania, th Pietracalda features spicy perfumes of fresh flowers, chamomile and candied citron. Fresh on the palate with balanced minerality. Beautifully paired with white meats and grilled seafood.
I Rosati: Rose Wines by the Glass
Rosato di Toscana, Societa Agricola Salcheto, Montepulciano, Toscana 2009: 13
A distinct Rose of Sangiovese with notes of fresh strawberries, red fruits, currants and hints of cardamom and spice on the palate. Finishing with zesty acidity, light citrus notes blend well with fresh red fruits on the palate.
Rosato di Puglia, Girolamo, Taranto, Puglia 2009: 10
A refreshing rose, deep pink in color with lots of soft fruit on the nose, strawberries, raspberries and a touch of cream. Smooth and clean on the finish with low acidity.
I Rossi: Red Wines by the Glass
Aglianico di Puglia, Girolamo, Taranto 2008: 10
Ruby red with garnet reflections and a nose of maraschino cherries and violets. The palate is dry and generous in red fruits with moderate tannins and a balanced finish.
Cannonau Picco del Sole, Sardegna 2008: 11
A bright ruby color, with a liquorice and gooseberry front. Very dry, wild berry with soft acidity and round tannin. Cloned from the Grenache varietal.
Rosso di Sicilia, ReNoto, Feudo Maccari, Sicilia 2006: 12
A blend of Nero D’Avola and Syrah, ReNoto is deep red-violet in color with a nose of ripe plum, cassis and anise and notes of black pepper, smoke and bacon lent by the Syrah. These carry onto a lush, velvety palate supported by ripe, soft tannins and a finely tuned acidic backbone.
Rosso Conero, San Lorenzo, Umani Ronchi, Marche 2006: 12
Hints of wood and wild cherry on nose with anise and herbal colors. Liquorice, black currants with balanced acidity. Touch of oak to the finish with good length.
Malvasia di Calabria, Alfieri Nero, Zagarella, Calabria 2009: 12
Dark ruby with notes of dark fruits, rich spices, smoke, tobacco and cocoa powder. Soft to the finish but with ample acidity for pairing with rustic dishes, pastas and cheeses.
Dolcetto di Dogliani, Aldo Clerico, Piemonte 2008: 13
Ruby red with red fruits, raspberries and a hint of mint. Fresh and vibrant on the palate with dry fruit tannins, cranberries and herbs. Clean and crisp to the finish.
Chianti Classico, Poggio Torselli, Val di Pesa, Toscana 2008: 13
Intense ruby-red hues with red berry fruits, morello cherry and vanilla on the nose. In the mouth, fruit flavors are underpinned by caressing tannins and hints of spice. The palate has excellent structure.
Rosso di Toscana, Rigoleto, Castello, C. Colli Massari, Toscana 2008: 13
A beautifully styled blend of Sangiovese, Ciliegiolo and Montepulciano. Bold aromas of cedar, white pepper and black cherry compliment a dense front.
Nebbiolo delle Lombardia, Baccalitt, Conti Sertoli Salis, Lombardia 2008: 14
A light, fragrant Nebbiolo with a tiny percentage of Pinot Noir that brings out notes of respberries and fresh strawberry on the nose. The palate fains a pleasant earthiness with hints of Porcini mushroom, minerals and light smokiness.
Pinot Nero, St. Michael Eppan, Alto Adige 2009: 14
Supple, smooth, light body with soft cranberry, strawberry and sweet tobacco on the middle palate and low acidity in the finish.
Rosso di Montalcino, La Fortuna, Toscana 2007: 15
Garnet with ruby reflections, this delicious, traditionally styled Sangiovese shows beautiful soft cherry notes with pepper and rich acidity on the palate. Light tannins add great complexity making the wine perfect to pair with a wide array of rustic, earthy flavors.
Rosso dei Colli Maceratesi, Vardo, Fontezoppa, Le Marche 2008: 15
Dark ruby red with violet reflections. An unfiltered blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Sangiovese with intense fruity spiced notes and a full, complex, persistent bouquet with vegetable and herbal tones and a decidedly peppery finish.
Barbera D’Alba, Bussia, Giacosa Fratelli, Piemonte 2007: 16
Bold, intense body with notes of vanilla, hazelnut, strawberry and earth. A smooth, consise middle body with forrest berry and leather leads to a dry, considerable finish.
Sangiovese di Siena, Bandinello, Palazzo Bandino, Toscana 2005: 17
Deep ruby red with purple hues, a powerful Sangiovese showing aromas of black fruits, hints of vanilla and dry earth. Dry and full on the palate with good structure and spicy tannins mixing with hints of vanilla on the finish.
Rosso di Bolgheri, Campo al Mare, Toscana 2007: 18
A dark ruby blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Cabernet Franc that shows both the power and elegance of the Bolgheri terroir. Soft spices, rich, rounded palate with dark fruits, smooth tannins and slight green tones mixing with hints of vanilla.
Super Tuscan, Borgo Cennina, Poggio Cennina, Toscana 2003: 20
Vibrant ruby red with violet edges. Generous aromas of ripe wild berries and subtle toasty notes. Full bodied and well concentrated with firm tannins and a rich finish. 85% Sangiovese, 15% Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon.
Barbaresco, Cascina Bruciata, Piemonte 2006: 22
Deep ruby red with garnet reflections. Intense, complex nose with floral and fruity balsamic notes. A warm, firm bodied palate with lots of personality, rose pedal, fresh strawberries, mushrooms and dense, slightly sweet tannins.
Brunello di Montalcino, Col D’Orcia 2003: 24
Deep ruby red with complex, full bodied nose and palate. Oak spices blend beautifully with inviting fruit. Long and warm to the finish with considerable, mature tannins.
Barolo, Marchese di Barolo, Barolo, Piemonte 2003: 1/2 Bottle, 50 Glass, 25
Ruby red with color with garnet reflections. An intense perfume with clean scents of spices, vanilla, roasted hazelnuts, liquorice, cacao and wild roses. A full, elegant flavor, austere and good bodied. Pair with meats, game and aged cheeses.
