ince its opening in August of 2007, Anthony Mazzola’s Accademia di Vino has won fans in New York City for its Italian regional cuisine and meticulously crafted wine list. After the success of his other popular New York restaurant, ‘Cesca, Mazzola opened Accademia di Vino at 1081 Third Avenue to offer an extensive selection of Italian wines paired with a menu prepared by Executive Chef Kevin Garcia. After this location’s success on the east side, Mazzola then opened a second Accademia di Vino location on Broadway in October 2009, bringing the acclaimed ADV experience to the upper west side as well.
The restaurant boasts an 800-bottle wine cellar and an inviting subterranean dining room (view photos here). The wines can be paired with an offering of cheeses, salumi, and carpaccios, as well as other crudi and tartares. Read about our selection of wines available by the glass here.
The comprehensive menu by Chef Kevin Garcia features Italian regional cuisine using ingredients that are primarily local and seasonal.
